Notans... in Adobe Illustrator!

It's been a long time since I've created a blog post but that doesn't mean that I haven't been teaching... I just teach in a new capacity now. I currently teach high school Graphic Design 1, 2, and 3. Last year proved to be quite a challenge teaching virtually and in various hybrid models but we are back in the classroom now so students are busy learning the Adobe Creative Suite software.

Because I'm very Illustrator-heavy, my students will begin the year learning this challenging program. They have already completed several assignments where they are tracing and learning how to use the pen tool... maybe I will post some of their work on that. But one assignment that students are finishing up is a take on the classic Japanese Notans. They learned the process of using the pathfinder tools and then created ones based on a chosen theme. Enjoy!
